Property Hub Chrome extension · Last updated August 20, 2026
Privacy Policy
Property Hub is a local Chrome extension. It helps you save housing listing pages you already opened, then rank them on this device. This policy describes what the extension handles and what it does not.
Who we are
Property Hub is published as an independent Chrome extension. It is not affiliated with Zillow, Redfin, Apartments.com, or Google. For questions, use the support email on the Chrome Web Store listing.
What data the extension handles
The extension stores data in chrome.storage.local on your computer. That can include:
- Listing facts copied from pages you choose to save (address, price, beds, photos, listing URL, pet/fee text, and similar fields shown on the page).
- Values you type: income, monthly cap, HYSA / savings, optional down-payment budget, job city, notes, shortlist flags, commute minutes, and optional Google Distance Matrix API key.
- Ranking answers you pick (bedrooms, commute modes, and other optional filters).
- Backup, share, and CSV files only if you download them.
This local install does not create an account and does not send your listing pool to a Property Hub server.
How data is collected
- From you. Fields you type and buttons you click in the popup or dashboard.
- From pages you already opened. When you click Save this page, Read open tabs, or the on-page save bar, the extension reads the visible listing or search page in that tab. It does not log in as you, bypass bot checks, or call unofficial listing APIs.
- Optional Google reviews. Saving a page does not contact Google. Reviews are fetched only if you check Google reviews before Read open tabs, or click Fill Google reviews. Then the extension opens Google Maps searches for saved addresses in your browser so rating text can be folded into ranking.
- Optional commute times. If you paste your own Google Distance Matrix key and click Time visible commutes, the extension sends the job city you typed and listing addresses to Google’s API to fill drive, walk, and transit minutes. If you do not add a key or click that button, times stay whatever you type from Maps.
How data is used
Only to rank and display listings in your local dashboard, and to export files you request (CSV, backup JSON, share JSON). Backup, share, and CSV files do not include your Maps API key. Your listing pool is never uploaded to a Property Hub server or shown to other users unless you yourself send them a file you downloaded.
What is shared
- We do not sell your data.
- We do not operate a Property Hub backend that receives your pool.
- Listing sites (Zillow, Redfin, Apartments.com) and Google see ordinary browser traffic when you open those sites or when the extension reads a tab you already have open. Listing photos load from those sites’ CDNs when you view saved cards; the dashboard URL is not sent as a referrer.
- If you opt in to Google reviews, Google receives the saved addresses used in those Maps searches.
- If you use a Distance Matrix key and click Time visible commutes, Google receives the origin and destinations needed to return travel times. That key stays on your device and is not included in backup or Share exports.
- Chrome may copy
chrome.storageto other devices if you enable extension sync in the browser. Turn that off if you do not want this data elsewhere.
